VOLUNTEER WITH US

The Greece Special Police are New York State certified Peace Officers that support the Greece Police Department and the Town of Greece by providing additional manpower. This is a volunteer position. The Greece Special Police Department officers assist with Special Event needs such as traffic and crowd control which allows the full time Town of Greece Police Officers to continue to respond to calls for service to the community. 

With a community the size of Greece, it is important that the Greece Special Police can provide qualified individuals to assist year round as needed. 

If you are interested in volunteering to serve the community in a positive and rewarding way, please consider this opportunity. The Special Police Unit offers flexible schedules that can accommodate most people's lifestyles.

 

COMMITMENT & QUALIFICATIONS

A commitment of a minimum of 12 hours per month is required.

Those interested in becoming a member of the Special Police Unit must satisfy the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 20 years of age

  • Be a United States Citizen

  • Be a Monroe County resident

  • Have a high school diploma or GED

  • Possess a valid New York State driver's license

  • Must be medically and physically fit

  • Pass Criminal and background checks

Greece Special Police recruiting new officers

GREECE, N.Y. — The Greece Special Police unit is looking for new people to join the team.

These are New York state certified peace officers. The Greece unit is the biggest in Monroe County and has been lending a hand to residents and Greece police for decades. Now the unit hopes to fill at least 15 open positions. (Watch Video)
